Prepositions in English: What are Prepositions?
What are prepositions? There are 4 types of prepositions we will discuss. These are prepositions of place, time, manner and movement. Prepositions of place indicate the place of an object: The lamp is on the desk. Prepositions of time indicate when something will happen: I was born on 10th September. Prepositions of manner describe the way something happens: The boy goes to the mall by taxi. Prepositions of movement indicate the direction or destination someone or something is moving to: Riley went to South Africa. In these examples the prepositions are in bold.
