What is an object in English? Objects are a noun that is acted upon by a verb or a preposition. There are 3 types of objects. These are: direct objects, indirect objects and object of a preposition. Direct object: Timmy found some gold. Indirect object: Give him the gold. Object of a preposition: We live in Manchester. In these examples the objects are in bold.
