An affirmative sentence is any sentence that confirms or affirms a sentence, that shows assurance is an affirmative sentence. In other words, an affirmative statement is also known as an assertive sentence. For example: Terry is a teacher. In this example, the subject confirms his profession. This shows affirmation. He is too sick to walk. In this example, the sentence affirms the health of the subject. In these examples, the affirmatives are in bold. Check out our affirmative sentences list.
