What are phrasal verbs? Phrasal verbs are two or more words when put together form a new word. A phrasal verb combines a verb with an adverb or preposition. For example: Stop by means to stop in for a short visit. Bank on means to base your hopes on something. Run out of means to have no more of something. In these examples the phrasal verbs are in bold.
