A comparative compares two things in English. They make comparisons with nouns, verbs and adjectives. The structure of a comparative sentence usually takes the following form: Subject + verb + adjective/adverb+(er) + than + noun/pronoun + verb. For example: An elephant is bigger than a mouse. A giraffe is taller than a rhino. My car is faster than your truck. In these examples, the comparatives are in bold. Check out our list of comparatives.
